The 35th National Coconut Week

The 35th National Coconut Week opening celebration was held last August 3, 2021. It is the 2nd time that the event was virtually held due to the COVID19 pandemic.

The National Coconut Week was declared by the late President Corazon Aquino in 1987 to be celebrated on Aug. 24 – 30 of that year and every year thereafter under Proclamation No. 142. It is a time for the coconut industry stakeholders to give tribute and thanksgiving for the blessings and benefit derived from the coconut industry and establish a continuing awareness to its lasting importance to our national life.

This year’s month long Celebration focuses on the empowerment of our farmers and entrepreneurs with the theme “Negosyanteng Magniniyog: Kaagapay tungo sa Maunlad na Ekonomiya”. Numerous activities have been lined up in complete virtual settings.
